Can create power and thermal profiles and overclock the CPU and GPU. ![]() Hello, I bought my Alienware Area 51 in 2009 when Dell took over and am not finding the support I need. I've never had any issues with my computer until recently while playing The Sims 3. The game action began to deteriorate within 30 minutes of play. Multiple character interactions caused people to disappear, cars freeze, etc. This is a buggy game at best so I tried addressing the issue with various tweaks. It showed the graphics fan at 0rpm. It also shows the CPU and System fan at 0rpm, however. Only the PCI and Hard DriveFan1 are operating acording to this readout. Dell advises to delete the Command Center after downloading a new version first, and then reinstall after unplugging the power and waiting a bit. This did not work. I have read in other threads that the Command Center itself can be buggy and the readouts incorrect. However, there seems to be no general answer or best direction to take after the Dell 'solution.' If anyone has any other further info, it would be greatly appreciated. The computer will shut down within seconds if the CPU fan is not working. Obviously from your post, this is not the case. Download and run 'RealTemp 3.60' and check the temps. - idle temps should not exceed 40 degs C, and load temps should be below 70 degs. In addition to this, clean the inside of the computer using a can of compressed air. Block the fans from spinning when you direct the compressed air jet on the fan blades. Otherwise, the fan blades may reach excessive speeds and damage the bearings. If you have an official support request or problem, we can not help you with that as we do not work for Dell. So, just to start this off. When I boot my PC, the first that happens is just the regular boot, which is fine. After a few programs start booting up, alienware command center turns on. So far so good. After a few seconds, at the bottom of my screen on the windows bar it shows an admin symbol, saying something needs admin permission. Once I click it, it pops up saying 'Alienware Command Center. Verified Publisher: Microsoft' and blah blah blah. Once i click yes so that it runs, I get the following error. System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'ThermalSupportAPI_x64.dll': The specified module could not be found. Edit: The CPU cooler works perfectly fine from extensive testing, but the issue is still there. Considering I am on the computer for extensive amounts of time, it can heat up a lot. Due to the program missing a DLL file, it does not let me change the fan speeds inside of the case. This will be an issue on days the PC is running at 70C or something (very rarely happens but there have been times I am on the PC for over 20 hours straight and it does). This will mainly effect the GPUs of mine, which might effect FPS. A fix for this would be great though, just for the peace of mind and me not being paranoid and checking temps ever second or two. The PC is an Alienware Area 51 R2 (sorry I didn't mention that sooner) and the only thing missing in the program is a DLL file called 'ThermalSupportAPI_x64.dll' which is giving all of these errors. If there is a way for me to download just this file, I'm basically set. As I said earlier, although it does not effect liquid cooling (it still works like a charm) it makes it so I am unable to control a majority of the fans inside of my PC which can be an issue during extensive gaming periods, or if I am working with a lot of polygons in programs such as Maya for 3D modeling. Why is it a problem?
